The Best Chiropractor in Mission Viejo Can Rehabilitate and Correct Spinal Disc Issues

There is nothing quite like a disc problem to mess up your life.  The good news is that most chiropractors can treat people with disc problems.  The best chiropractic care can even rehabilitate and correct spinal disc issues.

A disc is a flexible gel-like pad between the vertebrae of your spine.  They are there to give you the normal curves in your spine that allow you to move and bend and still be strong.  A straightened spine with no curves is actually very weak and abnormal. So, your discs should be flexible for your spine to be healthy.  Typically, the compression on your discs from standing all day will actually make you shorter at the end of the day than you are when you wake up.

Disc protrusions, herniations, or disc degeneration is due to improper misalignment of your spine.  And, over time it gradually increases the damaging effects on your discs leading to chronic pain, numbness, difficulty standing, sitting and walking, lifting, bending, or anything involving muscles that are controlled by the nerves from your back or neck.

There is an old term called a “slipped disc”.  However, discs cannot actually slip. They are knitted into the vertebrae from above and below the disc. The term comes from the idea that it feels like it slipped when the swelling actually occurred.  More appropriately, you could say that the vertebrae slipped and is pinching the nerve causing the swollen disc to pinch the nerve at the same time.

It usually hurts!

As a Mission Viejo Chiropractor, I have been practicing here for over 35 years now.  In my 14th year in Mission Viejo, a disc rehabilitation table was developed and I starting using it after doing 90 days of research to verify and prove that it worked.

The disc table uses rolling traction, not the kind that pulls you apart.  There is infrared heat coming out from the table into the muscles. And, there is a vibratory component that used in conjunction with all the other components, actually activates the repair of the disc.  Not all chiropractors have this table. I did 90 days of research by taking before and after x-rays and making the comparison. One for one, patients showed twice as much progress with the restoration of the swollen or degenerative disc visible on the x-ray.

At that point, I had to get enough disc tables to handle my whole practice.  Everyone needs disc rehabilitation to keep them healthy. As the best Chiropractor in Mission Viejo, I am the only one that combines the Light Force Adjustment, using 6 ounces of pressure to make adjustments, as well as the non-invasive disc rehabilitation to restore the discs on every patient.  I consider myself the finest Mission Viejo Chiropractor because of the proven results we get with this treatment.

The worst thing you could do would be to go to a Medical doctor like an Orthopedic surgeon or a spine specialist and ask him what to do.  Not only does he only deal with medical approaches, but he also doesn’t even know that my type of Chiropractic practice exists. The medical course is to give you drugs for the pain, send you to Physical Therapy, which may or may not give you some relief.  And then, when everything else gives unsatisfactory results, the last resort is back surgery.

After 35 years as a Chiropractor in Mission Viejo, I have seen many patients who have failed back surgery.  And, in actuality, whether a patient has had surgery or not, our results are about 98% successful.  My worst patient has had 8-disc surgeries, and she came to me to see if the 9th one could be avoided.

Of course, she is now 80% better working full time as a nurse, and I see her every 4 months for maintenance so she has never needed another surgery since I have been treating her.

Another great result we have had this year is a patient with 3 herniated discs in his lower back.  He came to me because I was treating his wife and she has gotten much better. But he had seen Medical doctors about the back and leg pain he was having and he wasn’t getting any better.  So finally, he came to me.

We did the usual treatment plan and disc rehabilitation and he progressively became able to walk and bend again without any pain.  The most important part of this story is that the doctors called him because they wanted to do a progress MRI to look at the disc herniations.

To their surprise, the herniated discs were gone right on the MRI.  They shook and scratched their heads and said to him that “This never happens.  You need surgery to fix herniated discs. What have you been doing?”

So, he told them.  “I have been going to the best Chiropractor in Mission Viejo.  He doesn’t do any traditional popping and cracking of the spine as the usual chiropractors do.  He is right down the street near the mall, and you should refer patients there before you ever do surgery on your patients.”  They just shook their heads in disbelief.

My message to you is very simple.  Before you have a disc surgery that you might not need, come and see the best Chiropractor in Mission Viejo and see if you have a problem that could be fixed.  The statistics right now show that approximately over 53% of the back surgeries fail.

You may be told by a Medical professional that based on the MRI, you need surgery.  But, then we have the AMA saying that statistically, 95% of the herniated disc surgeries are unnecessary.

Please try to save yourself all of the complications and failures.  Come and see me for only $25 so we can figure if you are a candidate.

Sincerely,

Dr. David C. Manago D. C.
